Cowes Town Council says it is “disappointed” to be forced to divert resources towards repairing damage caused by vandalism in the town.
Earlier this week, three sets of public toilets in Cowes were targeted.
Damage included blocked toilets, emptied sanitary bins, broken toilet roll holders and spray paint across walls and windows.
The facilities at Mornington Road and The Parade are owned and managed by Cowes Town Council, while toilets at Northwood Park fall under the ownership of Northwood House Charitable Trust Co. Ltd.
Mayor of Cowes, Cllr Stuart Ellis, said:
“It is disappointing that we are having to waste Town Council resources on cleaning up mindless vandalism within our town.
"We would rather be spending Town Council resources on bringing forward new projects that bring about improvements to the town.
"We are working on a project to improve the area with a new living wall, new seating and planting and also on plans to refurbish the toilets at The Parade.
"That’s where we want to be focusing our resources, not on cleaning up after vandals.”
The council is urging anyone with information about the incidents to contact Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary via www.hampshire.police.uk or by calling 101.
