A Cowes youngster is once again bringing festive sparkle to his neighbourhood with a spectacular Christmas lights display — all in aid of a local marching band.
Thirteen-year-old Thomas Young has transformed his home on Highfield Road with an impressive array of lights, raising money this year for the Vectis Corps of Drums Marching Band, which he has been part of for the past three years alongside his brother, Charlie.
Thomas began his annual display in 2020 at just eight years old, and it has grown larger every year.
His efforts have already raised more than £450 for Island charities over the last two years, and he’s hoping to add even more to that total this festive season.
He said:
“I love seeing people smile when they come to see the lights, and it’s great to be able to help local charities at the same time.
"Everyone is loving the new snow machine this year.”
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the display throughout December from 5pm to 8.30pm, with lights switching on half an hour earlier during the school holidays.
