Southern Vectis driver John Berry, from Cowes, has been recognised for his community work with a Go-Ahead Group Gold Award.
John received the Community Award for his dedication as a volunteer driver on the Community Bus, a service run in partnership with Southern Vectis to support rural areas on the Isle of Wight.
“I get an immense sense of fulfillment, knowing I’m providing such an essential service,” John said.
“Some passengers would feel increasingly isolated without the community bus, and it’s wonderful to see familiar faces waving as I drive past.”
Ben Murray, Southern Vectis Managing Director, praised John’s achievement:
"This award is a well-deserved recognition of John’s commitment to keeping Island residents connected and ensuring local bus services are accessible to all."
