The Isle of Wight community is coming together to support the family of much-loved Ventnor RFC player Tristan “Beast” Price, who tragically died in a car crash near Roud.

A GoFundMe page has now been set up to help Tristan’s family with immediate funeral and memorial costs.

Organisers say any additional money raised will be placed into a Junior ISA for his young daughter, helping to support her future and honouring Tristan’s legacy as a devoted father.

Ventnor RFC paid tribute to Tristan as a player who first joined the club in 1996 and remained a huge presence both on and off the pitch.

Known as a tough competitor in games but a warm and welcoming figure away from rugby, he was loved by teammates, supporters and the wider community.

He was also well-known through his work as a Newport doorman and for his involvement in local events such as Ventnor Carnival.

The club said his death has “left a huge void” and described the response from teammates, friends and residents as overwhelming, with many now rallying behind the fundraising effort.

The club and community are urging people to donate if they can — or simply share the appeal to help support Tristan’s family at this incredibly difficult time.
