Three Released Under Investigation After Ryde Machete Incident

Three people arrested following a reported machete incident in Ryde have been released under investigation.

A 22-year-old man from Ventnor, a 22-year-old man from Ryde and a 51-year-old woman from Ryde were arrested following the incident on Spencer Road on Sunday (20 September).

Police were called shortly before 10pm after a man was reportedly seen carrying a machete.

The man was then seen getting into a vehicle with another man before leaving the area.

Armed officers, including firearms officers brought across the Solent by a Ministry of Defence Police boat, were deployed as part of the search.

The two men were subsequently arrested nearby, while officers also searched a property on Westfield Park, off Spencer Road.

Police say enquiries into the incident are continuing.
