Choirs Raise Hundreds For Sophie's Legacy

A group of Island choirs has raised £600 for Sophie's Legacy, supporting families with children receiving treatment at St Mary's Hospital.

The donation was presented by Newchurch Male Voice Choir at the hospital's Children's Ward on Saturday evening.

The money was raised during a concert at Christ Church in Totland, featuring Newchurch Male Voice, Tamworth Ladies Choir and the Mercian Singers.

Pizzas donated by No7 and Niton Post Office were also delivered to parents staying with their children in the Children's and Special Care Baby Units.

Sophie's Legacy provides respite and practical support for families staying in hospital with their children, including access to refreshments, toiletries and a dedicated rest area.

The charity is also encouraging businesses to consider sponsoring its Saturday pizza runs, with sponsorship costing £120.
