Young Islanders Invited To Design Christmas Card

Children across the Isle of Wight are being invited to get creative and design this year's official Christmas card for the Isle of Wight Council.

The annual competition is open to primary school-aged children, including those who are home educated.

Young artists can create any festive design inspired by Christmas and the Island, including snowy landscapes, local landmarks, wildlife, Christmas characters or imaginative winter scenes.

The winning artwork will feature on the council's Christmas e-card, which is sent to hundreds of organisations, businesses and community groups during the festive season.

Two highly commended entries are also expected to receive certificates.

Entries can be emailed to civic.affairs@iow.gov.uk, or posted or delivered to County Hall in Newport.

The deadline for entries is Thursday 27 November, with judging due to take place later that weekend.

Last year's competition attracted a range of colourful and imaginative designs from children across the Island.

The overall winner and highly commended entrants will receive certificates.
