Child Cyclist Involved In Collision On Main Road Through Wroxall

Emergency services are at the scene of a collision involving a child on a bicycle and a car on the main road through Wroxall this morning (Wednesday).


Police and paramedics were called to St John’s Road at around 8.44am following reports of the incident.


The collision is understood to have involved a child riding a small bicycle and a car travelling out of Wroxall towards Whiteley Bank.


Emergency crews remain at the scene, where those involved are receiving treatment in the back of an ambulance.


A police cordon has been established around the area and the main route through the village is currently blocked between Appuldurcombe Road and St Martin’s Road.


Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while the incident is dealt with.


Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for comment.
