Vecta House Care Home in Newport was transformed into a tropical paradise on Sunday as residents, families and staff enjoyed a vibrant indoor carnival celebration.
Now in its second year, the event was created to bring the magic of the Isle of Wight Carnival to residents who may not be able to attend the main parade.
Bright decorations, music and performances filled the home with colour and joy, despite the gloomy weather outside.
The day began with residents receiving floral garlands before enjoying a stunning show from members of the Isle of Wight carnival community, who showcased their elaborate costumes and dazzling performances.

A lively parade then wound its way through the home, giving every resident a front-row seat to the festivities.
Lifestyle Leader Tanya Everson said:
“The smiles on our residents’ faces said it all. It was truly heart-warming to see everyone singing, clapping and having such a wonderful time.
"We are so grateful to Ann Abe and the entire Isle of Wight carnival community for making this day so special.”
The celebration highlights Vecta House’s commitment to creating joyful, engaging experiences for its residents – proving that, rain or shine, the carnival spirit is alive and well.
