Residents from an Isle of Wight care home have enjoyed a special visit to the annual Jigsaw Festival at St James’ Church in East Cowes.
The outing has become a much-loved tradition for residents at Orchard House Care Home.
The visit is particularly meaningful for 99-year-old Margaret, who has a long-standing connection with St James’ Church and has been an active member of its community.
Each year, staff help Margaret return to the festival, where she is welcomed back by familiar faces.
Church volunteers once again provided a warm welcome, with residents enjoying the hundreds of jigsaw displays and spending time at the community event.
Katie Schlepp, Head of Lifestyle at Orchard House, said the annual visit had become “a very special tradition”.
She said Margaret’s connection with the church made the occasion particularly meaningful, adding that residents had a “lovely time”.
One resident left a message at the festival which summed up the spirit of the event:
“Pray for the jigsaw of life, so that all pieces are present and they all fit, and the world will bring us together!”
The annual Jigsaw Festival brings together thousands of puzzles and visitors at St James’ Church, with this year marking its 31st edition.
