Caravan Hits Parked Car In Shanklin Before Towing Vehicle Leaves Scene

Police have been called to a collision involving a caravan and a parked car in Shanklin.

The incident happened on Green Lane, near the County Ground, on Wednesday afternoon.

It is understood the caravan was being towed towards Shanklin when it struck a parked Ford Fiesta, causing damage to the vehicle.

The towing vehicle is reported to have continued on its journey and left the scene following the collision.

Officers attended the incident, while recovery specialists were called to remove the caravan from the road.

The incident briefly caused disruption to traffic, with Southern Vectis reporting that Green Lane was temporarily blocked to Route 2 bus services.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
