Emergency services are at the scene of a crash at a busy junction in Sandown this morning (Friday), with traffic building in the area.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the top of Broadway, near The Heights Leisure Centre, where a Renault has collided head-on with a wall, also striking a traffic bollard.
No serious injuries are believed to have been sustained, but those involved are being checked over by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Firefighters from Shanklin are also in attendance, helping to manage traffic and ensure the area is safe.
Delays are building locally. The road remains open for traffic travelling from Lake towards Sandown, while vehicles heading in the opposite direction are being diverted via Beachfield Road.
Meanwhile, a separate minor collision at Wootton Common roundabout — a key diversion route into Newport — is causing further delays in that area.
