Calm & Chaos Brings Inclusive Sensory Space To Cowes

A new sensory and activity space has opened at Northwood Business Park in Cowes, offering children and families on the Isle of Wight a safe, fun environment to release energy, get creative, and explore new experiences.

Calm & Chaos, located at Northwood Business Park in Cowes, evolved from owner Jade Light’s original Rage Release concept.

Although the rage room proved popular, Jade realised there was a gap on the Island for a more SEN-focused, inclusive space.

“While the rage room worked well, it became clear there was a real need for a space that catered to children, families, and individuals who need both stimulation and regulation,” Jade explained.

The venue now offers private-hire sensory sessions built around choice and flexibility.

This includes the Chaos Smash, where children can safely smash neon-painted cardboard builds, balloons and fidget-toy-filled piñatas.

Nerf sessions are also available, encouraging movement, teamwork and confidence in a structured yet playful setting.

Every booking includes access to the Art Lab, where children can enjoy calming creative activities such as canvas painting, decorating keyrings and ornaments, and making sensory crafts.

This combination of high-energy and calming activities has proven particularly beneficial for neurodivergent children.

Calm & Chaos also hosts birthday parties and group sessions.

Jade says she hopes to expand support for the wider SEN community over time, including offering concessions and discounted access for families on low incomes.

“One of my longer-term goals is to continue building my professional training alongside the space,” Jade said.

“As Calm & Chaos grows, I’m aiming to undertake ADOS-2 and ADI-R training so I can ensure everything we offer remains informed, ethical, and supportive of neurodivergent children and families.”
