Mermaid proudly marks a decade of island distilling with a limited-edition 10th

Anniversary Gin, a distinctive blend that celebrates craftsmanship, coastline and character.

The reimagined elevation of its signature Mermaid Gin features foraged coastal fig leaves,

sourced from one of the UK’s oldest fig trees - Ficus Brown Turkey; planted in 1870 at Ventnor Botanic Garden.

Once a rare species to flourish outdoors in Britain, the fig’s ripening fruit is testimony to the Isle of Wight’s unique micro-climate and biodiversity that has long fostered the success of more delicate flora on the Island.

Crafted as the purest expression of place, memories and mastery, this gin offers a sensory

journey through time and tide.

The addition of the fig trees' unique leaves brings a soft depth to the gin - evoking sun-drenched shores, sea breeze, and notes of Mediterranean warmth inspired by the Isle of Wight’s coastal climate.

“This gin is our tribute to the island - ten years of learning and evolving, all while being inspired by the Isle of Wight’s native and new botanicals," said Xavier Baker, Co-founder of Isle of Wight Distillery.
“It’s a celebration of the natural world around us, the climate that shapes it, and the community that supports it.
"We wanted to create something special for our 10th anniversary - a spirit that couldn’t come from anywhere else.”

Mermaid’s 10th Anniversary Gin offers a smooth, refreshing and complex profile, opening with fresh citrus and a subtle hint of creamy coconut on the nose.

On the palate, a lively citrus zing is balanced by a deeper hint of sea air from enhanced rock samphire, while a gentle warmth enriches its coastal character.

The experience concludes with a long, layered finish and a well-rounded mouthfeel that captures the essence of the shoreline in every sip.

With a higher ABV of 46%, only 1,500 bottles of this rare edition will be released, available via

Every bottle is beautifully presented in a celebratory box and sits with an exclusive art print from coastal artist Michelle Lucking, titled ‘Sanctuary’, that depicts the feeling of melting into the ocean, highlighted with sunset hues of golden hour, that inspired the limited-edition gin’s bespoke design.

This expression is more than a milestone – it’s a tribute to a decade of sustainable distilling, wild foraging, and coastal conservation, honouring the island Mermaid calls home.
