It was sunshine, music, and generosity all round as WightAID’s summer garden party raised an incredible £40,000 to support charities across the Isle of Wight.

Hosted by Geoff and Amy Underwood in their beautiful garden, the celebration brought together supporters, businesses, and local organisations for an afternoon of entertainment and fundraising.

Guests were treated to live performances from The Optimists and Oli Rivers, alongside heartfelt presentations from three groups that have benefitted from WightAID’s support – First Act, Daisy Chains, and Alzheimer’s Café.

Each organisation also received fresh donations on the day, handed over by long-term business supporters of the charity.

Since its launch, WightAID has distributed more than £700,000 in grants, helping countless good causes across the Island.

Deon Redpath from WightFibre, one of the businesses involved in the event, said:

“The Isle of Wight is a beautiful place to live, but not everyone has the opportunities we take for granted.
"WightAID makes a huge difference — and while we may send the emails, it’s the whole Island community working together that changes lives.”

Founder Geoff Underwood added:

“It was wonderful to see so many friends old and new, and to raise such a fantastic total.
"Our thanks go to everyone who supported the party and gave so generously.
"This money will go straight back into supporting good causes right here on the Island.”
