More than £11,000 has been raised for Mountbatten - thanks to 'The Gift Fair for Mountbatten'.

During the pandemic, the organisers of the event - which has happened at Bembridge Sailing Club for the last five years, looked to new technology to enable their fundraising efforts to continue.

With technical support from Nosy Marketing and regular sponsors Spence Willard, Rouse and Weavers the 2020 Gift Fair went virtual and raised £11,675 for Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

Previously, the fair raised £19,000 in 2019.

Organiser Rosamond Poncia said:

“As a result of the COVID-19 restrictions The Gift Fair was not able to take place as normal at the Bembridge Sailing Club.  I am delighted we were able to continue ‘Virtually’ - shopping online.  I want to thank NOSY Marketing for producing and donating the Gift Fair website and our wonderful sponsors and donors. We are delighted to be able to present Mountbatten with a donation of £11,675. Everyone admires the amazing work of Mountbatten, particularly during this extra stressful pandemic.”

With the help of NOSY Marketing stallholders who would usually appear at the Gift Fair put their items for sale on-line and 15% of every sale was donated to Mountbatten.

Matt Greg, Chief Executive Officer at NOSY Marketing said:

"Mountbatten is vital for the Isle of Wight community. The work carried out by the hospice and surrounding services has a huge positive impact on many families. Our team at NOSY Marketing were delighted to help the cause by building the Virtual Christmas Fair website, helping to raise over £11,000 for the hospice. Amazing result from everyone involved!"

Mountbatten Chief Executive Nigel Hartley said:

“We’re grateful to everyone who supported the Virtual Gift Fair and to everyone who purchased gifts.  The Gift Fair committee work incredibly hard to support Mountbatten every Christmas. At this very difficult time we are grateful for the continued and creative support and from the wonderful committee members of the Bembridge Gift Fair who over the years have worked tirelessly to raise much needed funds for our Island’s hospice.”
