Four rogue traders have been arrested following a series of aggressive and fraudulent interactions on the Isle of Wight.
Police were called at 1.36pm yesterday (Thursday) following reports of suspected rogue traders operating in the East Cowes area.
Officers were told that an elderly woman was quoted £1,500 for roofing work, and after explaining she couldn’t afford it the work was started anyway and demands were made for £800.
This left the woman feeling frightened.
Another man was also quoted £600 for work to be completed to his driveway, police were told.
Officers attended and arrested a 19-year-old man, a 29-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and a 39-year-old man on suspicion of being a trader failing to provide required information in relation to off-premises contract.
They remain in custody at this time.
