UPS 'Reviewing Standards' After Isle Of Wight Learner Driver Incident

Delivery firm UPS says it's 'reviewing standards' after a video emerged of a driver overtaking a learner on the Isle of Wight.

The dashcam footage was captured by I.O.W Driving Academy, during a lesson in East Cowes last month (May).

In the video, the driving instructor can be heard saying "what an absolute idiot" as his vehicle, driven by a student, is overtaken by a UPS branded van.

The learner had pulled over to let another car through.

After overtaking, the UPS van then proceeds to drive on the pavement.

In a statement to Isle of Wight Radio, UPS said the vehicle was being driven by a 'subcontractor'.

A spokesperson said:

"We are aware of the video of one of our subcontractor drivers.

"We expect all drivers working on our behalf to drive safely and professionally, and we are reviewing our standards with this subcontractor and its drivers to ensure that our high standard of safe driving is maintained at all times."
