It's believed the fire broke out in the lounge.

Isle of Wight Radio's been told that the property is "significantly damaged".

Fire on the ground floor and smoke on the upper floors have caused the damage.

It's thought the adjacent properties are "relatively undamaged".

At its height, at least 22 firefighters battled the flames.

The fire has now been put out and crews are ventilating and dampening down the house.

Hampshire Constabulary said the fire is being treated as non-suspicious:

"We were called out to an incident at 11.11am this morning to reports of a fire at an address on Arctic Road; although it is being treated as non-suspicious as such the investigation will be with the fire service."
