Enchanted Isle To Cut The Ribbon At New Cafe In Newport

BUSINESS: A new cafe in Newport will officially open tomorrow (Friday), bringing a dash of colour and sweet treats to the high street.

Sweet Charlie’s will serve crepes, ice cream, waffles, coffee and more — and will be open from 10am until 10pm (later on Fridays and Saturdays).

The business is run by husband and wife team Charlie and David McLoughlin, who are well-known faces in the Island’s hospitality sector.

The couple plan to use Sweet Charlie’s to recognise 'kind and considerate people' through their Nominate a Neighbour scheme.

Charlie explains more:

“We have launched Nominate a Neighbour on our website and Facebook page, where people can tell us about the helpful things that someone has done for them or a relative.

"We will select from those nominations each week and recognise that kindness with a treat from Sweet Charlie’s. A different deserving Islander will get a treat from us every week. Our treats will vary each week from family dining to bouquets or gifts.”

The grand opening, with special guests, Elsa and Captain America from Enchanted Isle, will be held tomorrow (Friday 28th) from 5pm until 11pm. Enchanted Isle will be there between 5pm and 7pm.
