Suspended Former Labour Leader Makes Trip To Isle Of Wight

Jeremy Corbyn

The former leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn has been spotted on the Isle of Wight this weekend.

Mr Corbyn, who was suspended from the party last week following a damning report into Labour’s handling of antisemitism, has been seen on the Island.

Isle of Wight Radio listeners say Mr Corbyn was spotted having a coffee with his wife on Ventnor Seafront.

He was also said to be seen on Ryde Seafront.

Mr Corbyn’s suspension from the party was as a result of an investigation into antisemitism by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

It found it responsible for unlawful acts of harassment and discrimination.

The Party is responsible for three breaches of the Equality Act (2010) relating to:

  • political interference in antisemitism complaints
  • failure to provide adequate training to those handling antisemitism complaints
  • harassment

The Labour Party has until 10 December to draft an action plan to implement the report’s recommendations.

It's understood Mr Corbyn arrived on the Island on Friday - it's not known how long he will be here for.

A video has also emerged online of Mr Corbyn and Stephen Smith, an Islander who campaigned for Labour at the last election.
