The Scott Cooper murder trial has been put back after the jury were unable to reach a verdict.
Piers Brazier, of George Street, Ryde, is accused of murdering the 33-year-old.
Friday July 15 saw a jury at Isle of Wight Crown Court unable to reach a verdict.
A re-trial has been scheduled for Monday December 5 at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
Police attended a flat in George Street, Ryde, on the afternoon of January 4 where the body of Scott, from Newport, was discovered.
An investigation, led by the Major Crime team, was launched and following extensive enquiries, 38-year-old Brazier was charged with Mr Cooper's murder.
