Rescue Teams Search Freshwater Following Concern For Welfare Call-Out

Police, HM Coastguard and rescue teams have been searching Tennyson Down today (Wednesday), following reports of concern for the welfare of a man.

HM Coastguard confirmed Ventnor and Needles Coastguard Rescue Teams were mobilised to the incident at 10.20am.

An RNLI lifeboat from Yarmouth was also sent but no one was found.

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed:

'We were called around 10.30am today (June 24) to a report of a concern for the welfare of a man at Tennyson Down.

'Officers attended but no man was located.'
