Facebook: Isle of Wight Police

A driver has been charged with drink-driving and driving without insurance by police on the Isle of Wight.

Police have said it follows an'incident' that occurred yesterday (Tuesday).

A blue Vauxhall has been seized by officers and is pictured at the entrance to Robin Hill at Downend.

Police said that a male has been charged with drink-driving and driving without insurance.

Posting on Facebook, Sgt Radford, said:

"It’s 2021, as time goes on there are many things that no longer become socially acceptable.

"Drink driving hasn’t been socially acceptable for a long time. Just stop and think?

  • If you need to drive, don’t drink
  • If you drink overnight, don’t drive in the morning
  • If you have a problem with alcohol, please don’t drive and seek professional help

"If you kill someone because of your actions, you are going to prison. You will take away a loved one from their family which was avoidable.

"The driver also had no insurance. If you have an accident whilst you are driving then you are making someone else pay for your mistake.

"Please, just stop. Do not put others at risk or make others suffer because of your poor choices.

"I don’t think there is much more I need to say."

I know in my last post I said I would try to mix up what we are posting . . . But . . . This is important. It’s 2021,...
