Milk & No More - Isle Of Wight Service To Cease Trading On Christmas Eve

The Isle of Wight's Milk & More customers have been told their doorstep deliveries will halt on Christmas Eve.

The company has been serving Isle of Wight homes with meats and other food products, as well as milk, for a number of years.

However, with the lease at the firm's Newport distribution centre expiring in January, the decision has been made to cease its Isle of Wight service.

Milk & More says it has visited other possible sites on the Island, but it has not been able to find a suitable location that it is cost effective.

A letter sent to customers says deliveries on the Island will stop no later than Christmas Eve. The letter reads:

"This means that our last delivery to you, will be either Wednesday 23rd or Thursday 24th December 2020, depending on your delivery pattern.

"These deliveries will also include any deliveries you would normally receive on a Friday or Saturday. This is due to us not delivering on the 25th or 26th December.

"For those of you who pay by Direct Debit, we would ask that you do not cancel your mandate with us, until the payment that is due for deliveries up to Saturday 26th December has been collected in early January by us. If you pay us by credit / debit card via our call centre, you will receive one final bill from us that will need settling by the go January 2021, please."

The company says empty milk bottles will be collected on either December 29 or 30. It said:

"We appreciate that this is not the news you wanted to find out about in the run up to Christmas. If you wish to continue to have doorstep milk deliveries after Christmas, then you may find www.findmeamilkman.net useful in locating an alternative supplier."

Isle of Wight Radio has asked Milk & More for a comment on redundancies.
