LIVE: Isle Of Wight Businesses Reopening As Further Covid Restrictions Ease

As lockdown restrictions ease further, a number of Isle of Wight restaurants and pubs are reopening.

From Monday (17), Islanders will once again be able to dine inside and six people (or two households) are allowed to mix indoors.

Whether it be cinemas, museums or hotels, Isle of Wight Radio has put together a list of Island businesses reopening.

Sally Beston, Chairman of Shanklin Hotel and Accommodation Association, told Isle of Wight Radio she can't wait to see hotels reopen.

She said:

"We are so looking forward to greeting people again. All the accommodation providers have been working really hard behind the scene to make sure everything is COVID secure.

"Staff have been on furlough for so long they can't wait to get back, it has been such a long time.

"What we have had to do is take all the things like cushions out of the bedrooms and ensure social distancing in the dining rooms, we have had to use our lounges as dining rooms so it has been a real learning curve."

Here are the rule changes from Monday:

  • Up to 30 people will be able to attend weddings, receptions and wakes, as well as funerals.
  • Indoor hospitality will reopen, including bars, pubs, restaurants and hotels
  • Indoor entertainment (such as museums and cinemas) can resume
  • Up to six people (or two households) may meet indoors. Overnight stays are allowed
  • Outdoor events allowed up to the lower of 4,000 attendees, or 50 per cent capacity
