Isle Of Wight Thunderstorm Warning For Later This Week

A yellow 'be aware' weather warning for thunderstorms comes into force on the Isle of Wight later this week.

The Met Office is warning of potential travel disruption and flooding Wednesday (16) through to Friday (18).

It's expected to come into place from 6pm Wednesday until 6am Friday.

Following this week's hot weather, Islanders are being braced for potential torrential rain, hail, frequent lightning and strong gusty winds.

Rainfall totals of around 30 mm could fall in an hour, with some locations potentially receiving around 50 mm in 2 to 3 hours, according to the Met Office.
