Isle Of Wight Teenager Charged Following Police Officer 'Assault'

An Isle of Wight teenager has been charged following an incident which saw a police officer allegedly assaulted.

The 16-year-old is due to to appear in court today (Friday).

Hampshire Constabulary was called to Albany Road just before 12pm yesterday (Thursday).

Police located a girl on St James' Street where an officer sustained a head injury.

A teenager, from Ryde, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and three counts of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

She was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court this morning.
