Isle Of Wight Pizza Hut Survives Closure

The Isle of Wight's Pizza Hut restaurant will not be closing, it's been announced this morning (Friday).

29 huts across the country will shut for good, as part of a major restructuring programme in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

An announcement about potential closures was made earlier this week, prompting fears the Island could lose its restaurant.

Pizza Express' Newport branch has already closed due to the impact of COVID-19, as Isle of Wight Radio previously reported.

It is anticipated that 450 jobs will be lost across Pizza Hut restaurants.

A Pizza Hut Restaurants spokesperson said:

"We are doing everything we can to redeploy our team members from our Pizza Hut Restaurants locations that are closing and minimise the impact to our workforce. We are therefore unable to share exact job loss numbers for each Hut.

"We understand this is a difficult time for everyone involved and are supporting our team members as much as possible throughout this transition.”
