Islanders Asked To Take Part In 'Largest' Coronavirus Research Study

COVID 19 Research

Have you been asked to take part in what is said to be the largest COVID-19 research study in England?

Some Islanders - chosen at random - have been sent letters asking them to take part in the research project ‘to measure how many people currently have COVID-19’.

The research is being carried out by Imperial College London and Ipsos MORI, an independent research organisation, on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care.

The letter says taking part will help monitor the levels of COVID-19, which it says is ‘vital for planning how to keep you and others safe in the fight against coronavirus.’

It takes just five minutes to sign up to the scheme, in three simple steps.

You will also be asked a series of questions relating to your health.

If you decide to take part you will then be sent a coronavirus test to your home - which will be collected by a courier so the test can be analysed in a lab.

The result is expected to come back to you within a week.
