Coronavirus: Workplace Testing Available For Isle Of Wight Businesses

Isle of Wight coronavirus testing centre

Workplace testing for coronavirus is available for Isle of Wight businesses.

The Isle of Wight Council says it is now being offered to businesses with 50 or more employees, and for staff who cannot work from home during the lockdown.

As first reported by Isle of Wight Radio, plans to test the Island's most at-risk workers, rapidly and regularly, are also in place.

Around one in three people who have the virus have it without symptoms and could potentially infect people without even knowing it and this is why a focus on asymptomatic testing is being offered.

Businesses on the Isle of Wight can register for a test if:

  • your business is registered in England;
  • you employ 50 people or more;
  • your employees cannot work from home.

You’ll need:

  • the name of your company;
  • your company registration number;
  • an email address.

The council is currently working on a programme to deliver lateral flow tests on-Island for other businesses that may not qualify for the opportunity above.

If you are a business and need to order a test, you can register here.

Make sure your business is COVID-secure by following the government guidance relevant to your sector: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19.
