Coronavirus: Isle Of Wight Records Small Rise In Cases

Another three cases of coronavirus have been recorded on the Isle of Wight.

It comes a day after the lowest daily rise in cases so far this year was registered on the Island.

The Island currently has the 13th lowest case rate in the UK.

The seven day rate, per 100,000 people, has fallen below 50. It now stands at 47.3 - yesterday it was at 49.4.

It remains below the UK's rolling seven-day average of 116.4.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 6,622 positive cases on the Isle of Wight.

In total, 261 people have now died on the Isle of Wight after testing positive for the illness. 

Eight deaths were recorded in Tuesday's Island figures.

No further deaths have come in to today's (Wednesday's) NHS England figures.
