Coronavirus Case Confirmed At Binstead Primary School

A case of coronavirus has been confirmed at Binstead Primary School.

Headteacher, Rebecca Chessell, has confirmed that a member of the school community has tested positive.

The Isle of Wight Council has said students, parents and staff have all been informed.

A total of 33 students in Year 1 and Year 4 - along with five members of staff - are self-isolating, with a return date of November 18.

The school said it has rigorously followed the advice of Public Health England, accessed through the Department for Education official advice service.

The school remains open for all other students.

 Mrs Chessell said:

“I want to reassure parents, students and staff that we have stringently followed public health guidelines.

“It is important that we continue to provide high quality education to all of our students and those that are asked to self-isolate will continue to receive their education remotely.”
