A Chinook has made a flying visit to Sandown Airport.
The RAF Chinook arrived from RAF Odiham shortly before 6pm last night (Monday), as people watched on.
On landing, troops carried out a practice departure from the helicopter.
They refuelled at Sandown Airport - before flying off with some homemade pizzas, cooked freshly in the airport's new outside pizza oven.
EYES TO THE SKIES! Don't be alarmed if you see a chinook over the Island. It's taking part in a training exercise at Sandown Airport! #iwnews #Sandown @SandownAirport pic.twitter.com/GaZxqgX5uF

The RAF visitors have been and gone from the Island. I’m sure the flight crew of the Chinook had some spectacular views...
