Bad Weather Leads To 22 Island Roads Call Outs To Flooding, Trees Down And Storm Damage

Island Roads responded to more than 20 incidents on the Isle of Wight last night (Wednesday) and this morning, as the Island was hit by strong winds and heavy rain.

Numerous calls were made report flooding on the roads and in properties, trees down blocking roads and damage to buildings.

The most notable call outs were to Cowes Esplanade, where railings and a section of the esplanade collapsed onto the beach - and to Ryde Esplanade where a section of the ice rink roof came loose and landed in the road.
