A man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill, following an incident involving a knife in Newport.
Hampshire Constabulary says it was called to a property on Staplers Road 6.30pm yesterday evening (Thursday).
Police say there was concern that the man could injure himself - or someone else.
Specialist officers attended and a 29 year-old was subsequently detained on suspicion of threats to kill and affray.
The man remains in custody.
