Appeal For Witnesses Following Shanklin Crash That Saw Motorcyclist Airlifted To Hospital

Hampshire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Shanklin yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

Officers were called to Atherley Road, near Arthurs Hill, just after 1pm, following a collision involving a motorbike and a car.

The motorbike, a Honda, was travelling from Hope Road and the car was travelling from Atherley Road.

The motorcyclist, a 36-year-old man, from Ryde, suffered serious leg injuries and taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The driver of the VW Golf, a 46-year-old man, was uninjured.

Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or either vehicle prior to the incident.

A statement from Hampshire Constabulary said:

"We would also like to hear form anyone who has dash cam footage.

"Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101, quoting 44220120819."
