Advice Issued As Isle Of Wight Prepares For Level Three Heatwave

A level three heat alert is in place for the Isle of Wight ahead of what is expected to be one of the hottest weekends of the year.

The Met Office says there is a 90% probability of its Heat-Health criteria being met between 12pm on Thursday (06) and 9am on Sunday (09).

Islanders are being told to expect increasingly hot conditions, as warm air spreads north from France.

Some parts of the UK are anticipated to be hotter than some parts of Spain.

The Isle of Wight Council has issued advice ahead of the weekend:

⚠️Heatwave warning - be prepared for extreme weather this week.⚠️ Please take care between Thursday 6 August and Sunday...
