'Absolutely Delighted': Isle Of Wight Artist's Work Chosen For Book Cover

Book cover by Sophia Flowers

An Isle of Wight painter has had her artwork chosen for the front cover of a self-help book that's been published by an Australian author.

Internationally acclaimed artist Sophia Flowers, who lives in Newport, says she's “absolutely delighted” to hear one of her original pieces has been selected.

Sophia's piece called ‘Magnificence’ has been chosen by author and accredited Life Coach Anne Poole as the cover of her new book.

Anne, who wrote “Believe in Yourself” has always admired Sophia’s work and has bought other of her oil and acrylic paintings in the past.

Speaking exclusively to told Isle of Wight Radio, Sophia said:

‘As with all my artwork, I wanted to convey a feeling and a light that reached out to those that saw it.  Nature is very much my inspiration and I spent plenty of time outside going for walks taking in the abundant palette of colour.

'When Anne saw the painting, we arranged for it to be shipped out to Australia, where she lives, fully framed.  My heart was in my mouth until I knew it had arrived safely!’

Anne said she felt Sophia's artwork ‘encompassed all the hope and joy in what has been referred to as an encouraging and inspirational read.’

Artist Sophia added:

‘It has been a privilege to be part of this inspirational self-help book and Anne has been very generous to include my own short story at the back of the book.’

The book, which is now available to buy shares Anne’s life journey and the struggle of overcoming challenges from being unhappy to finding fulfilment and vitality.

Sophia recently shared her experience as a self-employed painter during lockdown with Isle of Wight Radio, as previously reported, she encouraged us to do something new whilst expressing ourselves through art.
