The Isle of Wight Youth Trust has announced the appointment of Nigel Hartley MBE to its Board of Trustees.

The Island charity, which supports the mental health and wellbeing of young people, says the move comes at a time when demand for services continues to grow.

Nigel brings more than 40 years’ experience in healthcare and the charity sector, having most recently served as Chief Executive of the Mountbatten Hospice Group until his retirement in 2025.

Chair of Trustees Kay Boycott says Nigel’s experience will be valuable as the organisation prepares to launch a new five-year strategy shaped by young people on the Island.

Speaking about his appointment, Nigel says he is looking forward to supporting the charity’s work, having started his own career in youth counselling.
