A chiropractor with decades of experience has made the Isle of Wight his new home, bringing a wealth of knowledge in chiropractic care and a passion for helping people stay active and healthy.

Niels Wagner, originally from Denmark, moved to the Island with his wife Lina after falling in love with the UK during a previous stay in Scotland.

“We had to return for family and business reasons, but realised we liked the UK so much we had to come back,” he says.

For Niels, the Isle of Wight’s outdoor lifestyle, sailing, and opportunities for an active life made the move a perfect fit.

Lina has also found the Island a place where she can take her creativity to new levels.

Niels has been a chiropractor since 1988, earning both a Doctor of Chiropractic and a Master of Science from Palmer College in Iowa, the birthplace of chiropractic.

“It was magic to walk in the footsteps of the founders, DD and BJ Palmer,” he recalls.

Following a two-year postgraduate internship in California, he went on to teach full-time at Life Chiropractic College West, as well as biology at local community colleges, before starting his full-time practice in 1997.

For Niels, chiropractic isn’t just a job – it’s a calling.

His practice covers patients of all ages (except infants), and he offers a range of techniques, from classical chiropractic methods to softer approaches for those who need them.

He also provides home visits for patients in the West Wight.

On the Island, Niels is opening two clinics: a chiropractic office at The Heights in Sandown, where he will work alongside fitness trainers to help members prevent injuries, recover from accidents, and address common issues like neck and back pain; and a part-time practice at Mint Pilates in Yarmouth, starting January 2026, combining physical training with chiropractic care for maximum benefit.

Niels also offers free 15-minute spinal screenings for those unsure whether chiropractic is the right solution, and he regularly gives talks and presentations to groups on health and wellness topics.

For a limited time, he is offering an “introduction package” including a full consultation, examination, and first three adjustments for £100 (normally £145).

Appointments can be booked via his website www.nielswagner.uk or by calling 07341 770 100.
