Woman Seriously Injured In Godshill Collision

A woman in her 30s has suffered serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Godshill.

Police were called to the High Street at around 10:55pm last night (Saturday), after a white VW Transporter travelling towards Sandford left the road and hit a brick wall opposite Godshill Model Village.

Emergency services attended, including Isle of Wight Ambulance Service crews and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The woman was treated at the scene for around an hour before being taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.

The road was closed into the early hours while officers carried out their initial investigation.

Southern Vectis services were diverted during the incident but have since returned to their normal route.
