Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Class A Drug Supply Offences In Newport

A 56-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply following an incident in Newport yesterday (Thursday).

Police were called to Nelson Road at 13:48 following reports that a man was being verbally abused by a woman.

Officers attended the scene and arrested the 56-year-old on suspicion of breaching court bail and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Throughout the afternoon, officers were seen leaving a residential address carrying evidence bags as enquiries continued.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed the woman remains in custody while the investigation continues.
