Wightlink has announced a major expansion of its Yarmouth to Lymington ferry service, with a three-boat operation set to run during peak travel periods from April 2026.
The move will add 868 extra sailings compared with the company’s 2025 timetable – an increase of more than eight per cent – in response to growing customer demand.
During the busiest times, typically Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, all three Wight Class ferries will operate on the route, providing departures every 40 minutes at peak periods.
Wightlink says the additional capacity will ease pressure during high-demand periods, improve availability, and offer more flexibility for both Islanders and Multilink users.
By the end of March 2026, all three vessels on the route will also have fully refurbished passenger lounges, enhanced retail facilities, and completed their annual maintenance programmes.
Wightlink’s Chief Executive, Katy Taylor, said the changes reflect the company’s commitment to improving the route and supporting tourism on the Isle of Wight.
She added that the extra sailings will help boost visitor numbers to the Island, supported by a significant increase in advertising throughout 2026Â promoting the Isle of Wight as a destination for holidays and day trips.
