A brand-new fundraising event is coming to the Isle of Wight this summer, as The Wight Brainy Bunch prepare to host their first-ever Fire Engine Pull at Newport Quay.
Taking place on Saturday 25th July, the event will see teams of 10 go head-to-head in a unique challenge – pulling an 18-tonne fire engine over a distance of 50 metres in the fastest time possible.
Making its debut on the charity’s events calendar, the Fire Engine Pull promises to be a lively and action-packed day, bringing together friends, families, colleagues and local organisations in support of a good cause.
Alongside the main event, there will be live music from some of the Island’s best bands, as well as local stallholders, food vendors, a licensed bar and entertainment for children.
Kat Grimes, from The Wight Brainy Bunch, said:
“We’re extremely excited to introduce the Fire Engine Pull for the very first time.
"It’s something new, different, and full of energy—perfect for bringing the community together while raising vital funds and awareness.”
Teams must sign up in advance to take part, with spaces limited.
Spectators are also encouraged to attend, cheer on participants and enjoy the atmosphere at Newport Quay.
The Wight Brainy Bunch is a local charity dedicated to supporting Island families affected by brain tumours, providing practical and emotional support as well as financial assistance when it is needed most.
All funds raised from the event will go directly towards helping those on the Isle of Wight living with a brain tumour diagnosis.
