Wessex Cancer Support is asking Islanders to donate new, unwanted Christmas gifts as part of its Unwanted Gift Amnesty, running from 30 December to 30 January.
The local cancer charity is collecting items to boost its supply of raffle prizes ahead of a busy fundraising programme planned for 2026.
Donations can be dropped off at Wessex Cancer Support’s Newport support centre, its Freshwater shop, and collection points at Tesco Extra Ryde, Asda Newport, and Morrisons stores in Lake and Newport.
Sarah Johnstone, Fundraising Assistant at Wessex Cancer Support, said raffle prizes play a vital role in the charity’s fundraising efforts.
She said:
“Raffle prizes are always in high demand and make a real difference to our fundraising.
"We’re especially looking for small items such as chocolates, wine, toiletries and homeware, but we’re happy to consider other suitable donations.”
Funds raised through the amnesty will help Wessex Cancer Support continue providing services for local people affected by cancer throughout 2026.
