Visit Isle of Wight is expanding its BID LIVE initiative with the launch of a new business support programme aimed at helping Island tourism operators grow and succeed.
The scheme builds on the recently introduced BID LIVE: Open Floor Sessions and brings together workshops, webinars and training opportunities into one structured offer for levy payers and voluntary contributors.
The programme is designed to provide practical support and expert-led guidance, with a focus on improving business performance, increasing bookings and maximising opportunities within the Island’s visitor economy.
Organisers say the initiative goes beyond standalone sessions, offering a coordinated programme with a strong emphasis on real-world application and measurable results.
Topics covered range from social media marketing to business rates, with sessions aimed at helping businesses operate more effectively and boost revenue.
Dominic Wray, Chief Executive of Visit Isle of Wight, said the programme is about delivering meaningful support to local businesses.
“This is about making sure our businesses have access to the tools, knowledge and support they need to succeed, not just in the long term, but right now," he said.
“Through BID LIVE, we’re creating a more joined-up, ongoing approach to support.
"These sessions are practical, accessible, and designed to make a real difference to how businesses operate and grow.”
The programme includes both in-person workshops and online webinars covering a range of relevant topics.
A series of ferry trade account webinars will help accommodation providers better understand available schemes and explore new opportunities to grow bookings, with input from ferry operators and opportunities for questions.
A business rates webinar will outline recent changes affecting leisure operators, including advice on reducing costs, accessing reliefs and challenging rates where appropriate.
Meanwhile, a customer experience webinar will focus on simple, low-cost improvements businesses can make to enhance visitor satisfaction and create lasting impressions.
Upcoming dates include:
Red Funnel Ferry Trade Account Webinar – April 29
Hovertravel Ferry Trade Account Webinar – May 6
Business Rates Webinar – May 7
Customer Experience Webinar – May 13
A series of social media workshops will also be held across the Island between May and July.
Sessions will be delivered in partnership with industry experts and key organisations, with places expected to be in high demand. Businesses are being encouraged to book early.
The BID LIVE Business Support Programme is available exclusively to eligible contributors, with further details available via the Visit Isle of Wight website.

This new business support programme for the Isle of Wight sounds like a fantastic boost for local entrepreneurs. One thing I've learned while scaling my own work is that clear, confident communication can make or break a project's success. Getting the tone right in pitches, emails, and website copy is half the battle. For agencies delivering SEO results under their own brand, partnering with a reliable white label seo provider lets you focus on that tone and client relationships while the technical work runs smoothly behind the scenes. Great to see local initiatives like this one.
