Vectis Radio is celebrating after being shortlisted for four categories at this year’s Community Radio Awards – a record year of recognition for the Isle of Wight station.

The awards, now in their 10th year, highlight the very best in community radio across the UK, with organisers saying 2025 has seen one of the strongest sets of entries to date.

Vectis Radio has been nominated for:

  • Celebrating & Championing Community Radio of the Year – for its 4Ps Radio Training School

  • Specialist Content Show of the Year – The Mid Morning Show

  • Community Impact Project of the Year – again recognising the 4Ps Radio Training School

  • Station of the Year – Vectis Radio

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Bradford on Saturday 25 October, following the National Community Radio Conference.

Station Manager Ian Mac said:

“To be shortlisted in four categories is an incredible achievement for everyone involved with Vectis Radio.
"It reflects the hard work of our volunteers, the impact of the 4Ps Training School, and the support we receive from our Island community.
"We’re proud to represent the Isle of Wight on the national stage.”

Director Kelvin Currie added:

“It is humbling to see our station being recognised nationally once again.
"Not only are we from a small island, but we have a small team who punch well above their weight.
"I’m proud to be part of that team, and excited to see how well we do at the ceremony in October.”

The Community Radio Awards are also marking 20 years of community radio in the UK, celebrating the creativity, diversity and local impact of stations across the country.
