Vectis Radio CIC, the Island's Community Radio Station, is calling for volunteers to help behind the scenes.
Station Manager, Ian Mac said:
“People think that Vectis Radio is all about being a presenter and talking into a microphone, and that thought puts many people off the idea of joining us.
"However, people can be a valuable part of Vectis Radio without even talking into a microphone.”
The station is looking for enthusiastic, community minded people to help them behind the scenes.
Whether it's filling in funding forms, collecting raffle prizes & selling raffle tickets at events, helping with marketing and promoting airtime, supporting the website and social media pages or getting involved with fund-raising efforts; there are so many ways that you could make a real difference.
Vectis Radio is your community station and relies on local support.
Vectis Radio Director Kelvin Currie added:
“Don’t be put off if radio isn’t your thing.
"You don’t have to talk into a microphone to be able to help us, there are many, many other ways to assist.
"Maybe you could put those creative skills to use writing commercial scripts, or our next pamphlet or funding applications.
"For many of these roles, you probably don't even need to come to our studio.”
To have an informal chat about what you can do, email ian.mac@vectisradio.fm and
maybe join the award-winning team of volunteers.
You can listen to Vectis Radio online at www.vectisradio.com or on FM 104.6.
