Vecta House Care Home in Newport recently hosted its first-ever Dementia Disco, transforming the care home into a vibrant, disco-themed party paradise and

delivering an afternoon filled with laughter, joy, and meaningful connection for

residents, their families, and friends.

The atmosphere was electric as the home was adorned by bright colours and

dazzling disco decorations.

The event was expertly managed by the phenomenal Miss DJ Ann (Ann Abe), who brought her full disco set-up, complete with music decks and dynamic lights.

Residents embraced the festive spirit, donning their best disco attire and waving glow sticks as they confidently took to the dance floor.

The party was further enlivened by the presence of residents' friends and families, who joined in the celebration, creating a truly inclusive and energetic environment.

Many enjoyed dancing alongside their loved ones, while others savoured a refreshing beer or glass of wine, adding to the relaxed and joyful ambiance.

"This event was truly more than just a disco; it was a powerful demonstration of how music and social interaction can profoundly impact the well-being of individuals living with dementia," said Tanya Everson, Lifestyle Leader at Vecta House.
"The laughter and smiles we witnessed were priceless, and the connections forged and strengthened were deeply moving.
"It was an unforgettable afternoon for everyone involved."
